Project Coordinator
Metro Strategies Group is seeking an experienced Project Coordinator or Manager to support complex public-sector consulting projects. This role is ideal for a skilled project coordinator or administrator who excels at keeping multi-stakeholder efforts organized, on schedule and aligned with client and contract requirements. The successful candidate will coordinate cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholder groups, manage project communications and meetings, track deliverables and action items to help keep initiatives moving forward. This role requires a high degree of professionalism, organization and judgment, along with experience working across multidisciplinary teams and departments. The position will serve as a central point of coordination, helping translate project objectives into clear, actionable workflows that support consistent progress. Candidates must be able to travel to client locations throughout northeastern Illinois.

Award HighlightsMetro Strategies Group was honored to receive two Golden Trumpet Awards from the Publicity Club of Chicago! We received a Golden Trumpet Award, and we were a Platinum Award finalist in the Community Relations Category for our outreach and engagement on the Cook County Climate Resiliency Planning Project. Together with our partners Geosyntec and ICF, we helped translate complex data and issues into clear and understandable strategies.
We were also thrilled to receive a Golden Trumpet Award in the Integrated Civic Communications Category for our work on the Clarendon Hills Park District Bond Referendum campaign! This award recognizes our communications strategy that helped the Clarendon Hills Park District secure 70% voter approval for an $8 million bond referendum. Award HighlightsMetro Strategies Group was honored to receive a Special Achievement Award for Public Engagement and Communications for our work on the Village of Algonquin’s Old Town Algonquin Riverwalk & Streetscape and Washington & Harrison Street Project from ACEC of Illinois at their 2025 Engineering Excellence Awards. Our project team also received the Judge’s Choice Award! We have enjoyed working with the Village of Algonquin on this project that has not only beautified the downtown but has been committed to communicating with residents and businesses about construction throughout the process.
